Marcus Engineering is a Tucson firm engaged in electrical engineering, industrial control and automation.

The company is experimenting with an idea called ME Forge that tests product ideas from their engineers on Kickstarter. They just uploaded a Kickstarter project that combines a precision scale and smart phone which they call an Atlas Scale.

Attaching a scale to a computing device increases the versatility of the scale as you can do things like convert between different measures or perform instant calculations on measurements.
